 TOP TASTY TURMERIC RECIPES!

 

TURMERIC RECIPE #1: TURMERIC SPICED HUMMUS

SERVES: 1 large bowl

TIME: 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 tins chickpeas or 800g home cooked
  • 2 lemons - juiced
  • 1 teaspoon organic turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoons of paprika
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon ground chilli
  • 3 cloves of peeled garlic
  • 12 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 3 tablespoons tahini
  • Salt and pepper to taste

METHOD:

  • Drain and rinse chickpeas.
  • Place all into a food processor and blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Serve as a dip or side dish
  • ... and enjoy! 

TURMERIC RECIPE #2: YELLOW RICE WITH RAISINS:

SERVES: 4

TIME: 40 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup of long grain white rice
  • 1 teaspoon organic turmeric powder
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1⁄2 cup of black raisins
  • 1 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Dash of coconut oil or butter
  • 2 1⁄2 cups of water

METHOD:

  • In a saucepan, combine the rice, salt, cinnamon, raisins, butter and water. Bring to a boil uncovered.
  • When it comes to a boil, reduce the heat to low and then mix in the turmeric and black pepper.
  • Cover and let it simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, or until rice is fluffy and water has been absorbed.
  • Remove from the heat and fluff with a fork. Keep warm until serving
  • Enjoy! 

 

TURMERIC RECIPE #3: TURMERIC SPICED FRIED HALLOUMI:  

SERVES: 4

TIME: 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 250g block of halloumi cheese
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon organic turmeric powder
  • Dash of olive or coconut oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

METHOD:

  • Slice the halloumi into 10 - 12 slices
  • Mix the turmeric, black pepper and salt and oil into a paste and coat the cheese slices in it.
  • Heat the frying pan with a small drizzle of oil in it.
  • Add the halloumi slices to the pan evenly spaced and fry for 2-3 minutes on either side or until golden.
  • Serve immediately. Which you will WANT to do lol!
