Taka Tea Packaging is 100% Recyclable

Taka Turmeric Love for the planet

Let’s Talk Packaging...

We have always been fired up about everything sustainable. I was talking about many aspects of eating organic in my last blog post, and these topics naturally lead from one to another. So here we are, discussing the necessity and value of recycling!

Being good to our bodies by consuming pure and organic products when possible is so important to us at Taka Turmeric. But equally important is looking after our beautiful planet.

As a company providing products that are good for you, we found it essential to make our products as eco-friendly as possible. Rather than focusing on cutting costs and increasing profits, we sleep well knowing that what we are doing is good for you and good for our planet too.

What Does 'Recycling' Actually Mean?

“Recycling is the process of converting waste materials into new materials and objects. The recyclability of a material depends on its ability to reacquire the properties it had in its virgin or original state. It is an alternative to 'conventional' waste disposal that can save material and help lower greenhouse gas emissions. Recycling can prevent the waste of potentially useful materials and reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, thereby reducing energy usage, air pollution (from incineration), and water pollution (from landfilling).”

Taka Tea Packaging is 100% Recyclable, From Top to Tail!

Taka Turmeric Tea Bags Packaging

Taka Tea Bags

Our tea bag filter paper is as pure as it can be! You may notice it is not a bright white like many teabags you’ve seen before. This is because we use unbleached filter paper, maintaining its natural colour rather than using bleached white paper.

Our tea bags are unbleached, staple-free, and stitched together with 100% organic, non-GMO cotton string instead of being heat-sealed with glues and plastic. Once used, remove the paper tag and place the bag into your compost bin as it is fully compostable.

Taka Tea Tags and Strings

The tags on each tea bag are uniquely coloured, so you always know which blend you’re enjoying. Our bright and cheerful tags are made from FSC®-certified card, so they can go into your paper recycling bin.

Taka Tea Bag Envelopes

After four years of research and development, we now use a tea envelope made with MaxiBio paper that is fully airtight and recyclable in your paper recycling bin. Our FSC®-certified paper envelopes include a very thin coating of plastic, free from BPA and PVC, which is necessary to protect the high-quality organic Herbs and Spices in our blends.

Taka Turmeric Tea Herbs

The Herbs in our tea blends are 100% organic. Once you have brewed all the delicious golden healthiness out of them, you can pop the tea bag with its organic string into your food waste bin.

Taka Turmeric Tea Boxes

Our tea boxes are made from FSC®-certified card and printed with vegetable-based inks. Once used, you can put them in your paper recycling bin.

Taka Tea Final Product Production

The sublime packaging of our final Products is thanks to a highly intelligent Italian-made machine that packs the tea from blend to box.

This amazing tea packing machine takes:

  • The Taka organic tea blend

  • Filter paper

  • Tea tag

  • Bag string

  • Colour-coded envelopes

  • Cartons

When all the above are placed in their spots... like magic... out pops a perfect box of Taka Turmeric Tea.

Oh, and by the way – our teas are all sugar-free, dairy-free, added-flavouring-free, caffeine-free (besides the Masala Chai, which has a small amount of naturally occurring caffeine), and suitable for vegetarians, vegans, and those who are halal and kosher.

Our goal is to ensure you get all the health benefits of an all-natural drink like ours, while leaving both the planet and the body in the best condition possible!

To your vibrant health!

Talia and the Taka Tea(m)!
